- READ IT: “Rural Revival: Nebraska’s New Bryan Health Merrick Medical Center“
As ambulatory demands increased over time, the small rooms and narrow passageways at Bryan Health Merrick Medical Center—built in 1959—limited the services and specialists that the aging structure could handle. With the goal of expanding its onsite service offerings while welcoming patients to a more modern, comfortable space, Merrick embarked on a new $27 million facility in partnership with architecture firm Kahler Slater. This feature for Healthcare Design magazine details the new adaptable care rooms, strategic adjacencies and thoughtful community connections that enable the new medical center to flex and expand with ebbing patient demand.
