Existing commitments get in the way of consistent blogging because we all feel overcommitted. That’s modern life today.
STRATEGY #9: Change your mindset.
“You’re not any busier than anyone else. Everyone is overwhelmed, and people blogging daily feel the same thing but they’re able to get it done,” Hyatt says. “People make time for what’s important, so is blogging important to you or not? If you keep using the excuse that you don’t have time, it’s keeping you stuck.”
You can get unstuck, but it takes discipline.
[_] ACTION ITEM: Acknowledge that you have all the time you need to do what matters most.
STRATEGY #10: Schedule writing appointments.
“What gets scheduled gets done,” Hyatt says. “Make an appointment with yourself on the calendar so you’re committed to write.”
During that time, once you’re settled in your creative space, practice batching – produce as many blog posts as you can while the juices are flowing.
[_] ACTION ITEM: Schedule a recurring writing appointment with yourself.
“You absolutely can blog with consistency,” Hyatt says, in conclusion. “It’s only a decision away.”
