Before Marc D. Succi, MD, joined Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) as a radiology resident, he had already secured several patents for his inventions. When he realized that other physicians didn’t know how to approach innovation, Succi developed an in-house tech incubator to help them transform their ideas into practical inventions.

Succi founded The Medically Engineered Solutions in Healthcare (MESH™) Incubator at MGH — the first innovation incubator and accompanying curriculum integrated into a medical training program, in any specialty.

As part of the ACR Imaging 3.0 Initiative, this case study details how Succi established the innovation incubator and training program inside his radiology department, offering advice for other physicians to drive change in their own practice.
